Easter

Right on cue, a week-plus overdue. Some Easter highlights...

Annual Hanson Family Eggstravaganza!

A week before Easter, Greta and Nate hosted their Annual Egg Hunt.  A year ago this month it was averaging temps of 60-70 degrees outside.  This year the kids were trudging through snow.  I think the adults noticed this difference more than the kids.

Starting out on the hunt at the Hanson's

 Max finding a white egg...

...and deciding to bury it because the snow camoflauges it and "won't it be so funny when the snow melts and Greta and Nate find an egg!"

Otto found three eggs and decided he'd had enough.  Every egg of his had a stamper in it, but he didn't seem to miss out on chocolate and candy.  He enjoyed going to town stamping his hands and arms.  Plus, he'd quickly find the candy inside Greta's house and be eating jelly beans by the handful when I wasn't looking:)

Max with his bag full of eggs h'd found. He and Wesley were the two oldest kids at the hunt and they each found enough eggs to fill a bag.  Competition will get stiffer as the younger kids get older and better at finding eggs.

Greta, who was just a few days away from having Baby Bea, still made the Egg Hunt festive and fun.  When Max saw the above treat buckets for each of the kids he asked "Why did Greta get all the kids so many eggs from the hunt AND a goodie bucket too?!"  He loved all the treats!!

Greta's themed spread, which went untouched by my boys until after they had their fill of jelly beans (which were in bowls strategically placed at kid-level).

Matilda, Greta's adorable little girl.  Now Greta's big girl (Baby Beatrice was born a few days after the Hunt).

Easter Morning At Home

Max finding his basket.  I thought it would take him awhile to find it, as I had buried it inside the large wicker basket and covered it almost entirely with stuffed animals, just a bit of the handle visible.  But he  found it pretty immediately.

Wren trying on some bunny ears.

Otto in heaven with the Seroogy's solid fudge egg from Papa Mark and Linda!

Starting the Easter Sunday sugar binge before dawn!

Schuster Family

The Schuster family's littlest one, Dash.  He's six months old and gives The Biebs a run for his money in the hair department.

And Dave Grohl has nothing on Otto's hair and ink!  This family might be a band in the making.

Me & Wren.  Trying to share a decent pic of Wren's cute outfit...her coat is a little French American.  Red, white and blue with the stylings of Madeline:) Not very Easter-y, but I ditched my idea of her wearing a tank dress for a long sleeve shirtdress and jacket given the cool weather.

Some of the kids and cousins enjoying opening eggs from the hunt.

  1. So glad the Schuster crew could come to the Hunt! Next year, Wren will have to get double the eggs to make up for this year. :)
