Happy Birthday Jamie!

It was my sister Jamie's 36th Birthday yesterday so we were thrilled to host a little celebration last night. A great opportunity to have her and Joe's parents over for dinner and cake. As well as a chance for all the kids to make her some painted footprint art, help her open presents and sing Happy Birthday to her.

Joe made his Dad's "famous" marinated pork chop recipe - using a pork tenderloin instead (so much better than chops, declared all of the ladies). It's this amazing flavor with horseradish, wine, honey and more in it. Jamie swears she could eat it on anything and everything, so we gave her a jar to take home.
The weather was unbelievably gorgeous, so Joe grilled the tenderloin and asparagus while Jamie and I walked the block with the kids on their tractors (I really should transition them to bikes one of these days).

Yum! made the cake. I made some pom pom pokers. Seriously can't beat this cake when you want a chocolate cake and buttercream frosting!

After Otto saw the pom pom pokers, he decided that's how he wanted to eat his scoop of ice cream.

Happy, Happy Birthday Jamie! So glad we live in the same city so we can celebrate all our special days together!
